Cup victory makes KVO forget about worries for a while
The American owners of KV Oostende have come into the sights of the tax authorities. Bankruptcy is not yet an option for the time being. Yet the club’s debts are mounting and the owners must appear before the corporate court at the end of September to provide clarity about the club’s financial paperwork.
KV Oostende is also in trouble in terms of sport. The victory against FC Ganshoren is the first this season. It is last in the league after four games.
Fifteen other cup matches are scheduled for this weekend. The draw for the sixteenth finals will take place on Monday. From that stage onwards, first division teams also participate in the Belgian Cup.
