FSV Berolina Stralau, Makkabi Berlin’s next opponent, is clearly on the side of the Jewish sports club. It is still unclear whether the cup game will take place.
The upcoming opponent has changed after the game and training operations have been stopped Maccabi Berlin solidarity with the Jewish sports club.
“If fellow human beings cannot go about their everyday lives free from worries and threats, if they cannot practice their sport in safety because of their religious affiliation or membership of such an important association for Jewish life as Makkabi Berlin, then we must show solidarity and protect themselves Set aside,” wrote FSV Berolina Stralau on its website on Thursday. “Never again is now.”

The club is the opponent of Makkabi Berlin in the Berlin Cup competition. The game is scheduled for this Sunday at Berolina. “We stand with you, Israel! We are at your side,” it said on the state league club’s homepage addressed to Makkabi. “Let us remember the victims of terror together on the Sunday before the cup game.”
However, it is still unclear whether the encounter can and will take place. After the terrorist attack in Israel on Saturday by Hamas, Makkabi Berlin has stopped playing and training for the time being. The President of Maccabi Germany, Alon Meyerhad explained in an interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” that everything had stopped in Berlin and “massive measures were taken there.”
Makkabi Berlin’s game in the Northeast Oberliga last Sunday at TSG Neustrelitz was also canceled.
