Through five culinary experiences, you can enjoy the produce of top chefs and various hotel schools at Kookeet. The division into different experiences creates interesting variations in the dishes that you can order here. In the first experience: Around Het Vuur, the chefs work with different techniques in which fire is essential. You can enjoy puffed oysters by Kristof Deprez from De Mangerie or the lacquered Aubergine by Filip Claeys from De Jonkman. I myself (as a vegetarian) chose the latter and was very surprised by the delicious flavor combination and the quality of the ingredients. Everything you put in your mouth on Kookeet tastes fresh and made with love.

The second experience was renamed Op Drie Wijzen. Here, three chefs always work with the same ingredient and serve up their own interpretation of fish, tomato, pork or apple. The perfect place to order a different dish and taste it together. The last experience where you can enjoy culinary dishes all day long is at Uit Het Vuistje, a gastronomic twist on street food. Here you can enjoy, for example, salmon croquettes or Korean fried bunny. You can find the full menu on the Kookeet website, because the dishes I quote here are less than a quarter of what can be found.

As icing on the cake, you can also enjoy a cooking demonstration in the cooking theater at various times. Here, various chefs set to work in an open kitchen and some members of the public get the chance to sit down at the table and taste the dishes created.

With this edition, Kookeet wants to return to the basics of culinary enjoyment. The chefs work together to use simple local ingredients in a better and more inventive way. I spoke to some regulars, as well as chefs sharing their dishes for the first time. They all agree: the unique concept of Kookeet provides a challenge that only increases their love for cooking.

The ultimate experience?

If you are more looking for the ultimate Kookeet experience, you can buy tickets for Op His Best, the VIP package of Kookeet. Here you can enjoy a four-course dinner with appropriate wine in a cozy heated tent. A unique experience for which you can only buy tickets for Monday afternoon.

Kookeet will continue until Monday 26/09 in the Grootseminarie in Bruges. For today (Sunday 25/09) you can still buy tickets at the door.

Be sure to use the shuttle bus that runs continuously between Kookeet and the station, so you don’t have to use the car.
