CSVC loses no chance, Everts shoots leader MSC late past VCG

FOOTBALL – In the 3rd division D, CSVC suffered a clear defeat in and against Avereest. The Orange Shirts went down 4-1. After the dismissal of trainer Nico Kats, the formation from Coevorden still won against the last of Fit Boys, but then it went down twice.

Last Saturday, CSVC lost 3-1 to Hoogeveen and last night to Avereest. Thanks to an own goal, more than twenty minutes before time, the Drenthe club could hope for a point. But it remained hopeful, because six minutes after the connecting goal, Avereest brought the margin back to two goals.

Due to the defeat, CSVC is still in a post-competition spot with 5 points from 14 matches. The gap to safe eleventh place, where BSVV is, is seven points. Only the last number is relegated from this 3rd class D. At the moment it is Fit Boys, with 2 out of 14. SVN’69 is also one of the contenders for direct relegation with 3 out of 14.

5th Division G: MSC retains lead

In the 5th class G, MSC remained the leader with a 2-3 victory at VCG in Geesbrug. Only five minutes before time did the Meppelers score the winner: Dave Everts became the match winner.

Jort Veeloo quickly put the visitors at 0-1, but VCG quickly turned that deficit into a lead through hits from Enrico Schonewille and Joey Kikkert. Luc van der Logt made it 2-2 within half an hour. A very goal-rich evening seemed in the making, but that turned out not to be the case. Suddenly both teams were unable to find the net, until four minutes before the end.

MSC thus retains the lead and now has 30 points from 12 matches. Nagele, which beat Steenwijker Boys (3-0), is second on two points from the Meppelers. Still, Steenwijker Boys has not yet been eliminated in the title race, because just like Alcides, that club has 25 points from 12 matches.
