Swarovski opens its largest flagship store to date in New York.
The Austrian crystal producer’s new store on Fifth Avenue spans two floors and covers around 1,400 square meters, Swarovski announced on Tuesday.
In the store designed by Swarovski creative director Giovanna Engelbert, Swarovski offers not only its jewelry but also home accessories, glasses and tableware. The store is also home to a collection of lab-grown diamonds as well as collaborations tailored to the location.
Visually, the store pays tribute to the Swarovski brand world and incorporates the colors and the octagon known for the brand into its design. Countless octagons adorn the walls of the store and a pink staircase was designed in the shape of an octagon. The extraordinary staircase leads to the second floor of the store and is framed by tableaus illustrating Swarovski’s 128-year company history. The store’s design is intended to inspire wonder while paying homage to the shimmering beauty of crystal, according to the release.
“As New York is an iconic fashion capital and feels like a second home to me, it is exciting to see our flagship on 5th Avenue come to life,” said Engelbert. “I wanted to convey the feeling of entering a giant crystal – the world of Swarovski – and capture the imagination from the moment you enter the store.”
