Crypto jobs: these countries have the most vacancies

British company analyzes crypto job advertisements

The crypto industry has already developed into an economic sector worth billions – and is constantly growing. As BTC-Echo points out, the rapid growth means that new talent is not able to acquire the skills necessary for the industry quickly enough, resulting in a gap in the job market. Supply and demand for qualified workers are no longer in proportion to each other. Skills such as Java, machine learning, Python and artificial intelligence are particularly in demand.

The company Small Business Prices has investigated which industries and cities offer the most jobs in the field of crypto and AI in a country comparison. For this purpose, crypto job advertisements from different countries published on the Glassdoor website were examined. The company presented the results on its website. As of March 10th, 2022.

The USA and Great Britain occupy leading positions

According to this, the United States has the most job offers in the field of blockchain technology with a total of 3,893 vacancies. In addition, searches for jobs containing terms such as cryptocurrency, blockchain or bitcoin increased by 194 percent within a year (2017-2018). The recruiting companies mostly come from sectors such as technology, financial services, computer software and hardware, but also accounting and security. Most are based in San Francisco, New York or Los Angeles.

Great Britain takes second place with 954 crypto jobs advertised. The demanding sectors hardly differ from those in the USA. However, in the UK, the crypto experts are also being hired in the media industry and publishing. The top five locations in the UK are London, Cambridge, Greenford, Manchester and Glasgow.

Only English-speaking countries in the top 5

Canada ranked third with 386 job postings. Here it is mainly IT companies and energy suppliers who work with blockchain technology. Most jobs are offered in the cities of Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Australia ranks fourth. The country is sparsely populated. The majority of the residents live in the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, where the majority of the 236 open crypto jobs are also offered. Job advertisements can be found in the areas of IT, web technology, finance, hardware and software as well as consulting.

Bottom of the top 5 is also an English-speaking country: South Africa. 36 job advertisements could be found here. In South Africa, too, it is the usual sectors that are looking for talent.
