Meyer Werft’s newest cruise ship, the Carnival Jubilee, will arrive in Eemshaven during the day on Tuesday. She leaves from Papenburg on Monday afternoon.
De Meyer Werft is still careful when it comes to planning, because the weather, especially the wind, can still be a spoilsport.
Yet the family business is committed to sailing the ship to the North Groningen port. Because there is a lot of time pressure on the delivery of the cruise ship. That is scheduled for December 4.
Construction has already been delayed by a month and Meyer cannot afford any more loss of time. Especially because the client, the American Carnival Cruise Line, has planned the first cruise voyage at the end of December.
Carnival Jubilee is the first ship in a series of three built in Papenburg. Carnival Cruise Line’s other cruise ships were built in Turku, Finland.
From Eemshaven the ship goes for test runs to the Oslofjord.
