The korfball players of Groen Geel have achieved an important victory. In Nijeveen, DOS ’46 was won 24-21. Due to the win, the North Hollanders now share third place with DOS ’46 in group B of the Korfbal League. The top three teams qualify for the championship pool.
Both teams were tied until 4-4. Then the home team ran out to 8-4. The North Hollanders fought back in the game and after the first half it was 11-11. After that, Groen Geel was very strong and it ran to 15-20. In the final phase, DOS ’46 came back to a margin of one. Yet it was the Green Yellow who won the match. Thanks in part to eight hits from Scott de Decker, it became 21-24.
Blauw-Wit will play against LDODK on Sunday. Koog Zaandijk’s duel was canceled because opponent Fortuna had too many corona infections.
Last round
Next Saturday the decision will be made as to who will advance to the championship pool. Groen Geel then plays at home against the strong PKC. Competitor DOS ’46 is visiting TOP.
