The crowdfunding platform Startnext is the largest crowdfunding portal* in German-speaking countries. It has been on the market since 2010 and is based in Dresden. The special thing about Startnext is that it is a benefit corporation. This means that companies with this legal form undertake to comply with certain standards regarding social added value and sustainability.
The platform does not charge any fees. Investors can decide for themselves whether they want to donate part of the capital to Startnext. Funding is available to private individuals, institutions, the self-employed and start-ups, among others. The crowdfunding platform has no influence on the project and its course, but employees help if problems arise.
The investment process is straightforward. First, the investor selects a project. A freely selectable amount must then be entered and confirmed. Once that is done, the payment process can be started. The investor must select a payment method and enter his data. To complete the process, the terms and conditions must be confirmed and the paid support must be confirmed.
