The family of Donny van Iperen has started a crowdfunding campaign. The football player from Sint Pancras came into a very unfortunate collision a month ago, resulting in a brain injury. With this fundraiser, the family wants to pay for the non-reimbursed treatments for Donny.
The first week after his collision, Van Iperen from North Holland was nursed in Moldova. Because he was not properly insured, it was initially not possible to record the footballer in the Netherlands. After an appeal in the media from the family, Erasmus MC in Rotterdam was prepared to admit him.

Recently, the 27-year-old defender has shown very tentative signs of recovery. So he speaks a few words. When the family is visiting the hospital and they ask if Donny knows who they are, he answers with their names, for example.
Van Iperen played for the youth of AZ in the past and was then under contract with Telstar. Since this summer he plays for the Moldovan club FC Zimbru.
