It is already busy early on with traffic on diversion routes for the closed Haringvliet bridge, the ANWB reports Monday morning. Around seven o’clock, motorists on the A17 from Roosendaal to Dordrecht were already delayed for an hour. There is also traffic jam on the N57.
The fact that it is already busy at that time means that the ANWB expects a busy rush hour in the area. It has already been warned that road users should take into account extra travel time, which can amount to more than an hour during rush hour.
The Haringvliet bridge on the A29 motorway, connecting West Brabant with South Holland, has been closed for major maintenance since Friday for eight weeks. The closure also applies to the parallel runway. Many road users have to look for a different route. Municipalities around the bridge are therefore afraid of cut-through traffic.
