American shot putter Ryan Crouser has set a new world record on Saturday. In an indoor race in Idaho, Crouser pushed the shot to 23.38. The record is reported by the International Athletics Federation WA on its pages.

The man has accumulated a lot of competition success and he achieved the previous record result of 23.37 in the US Olympic qualifiers in 2021. The 30-year-old man is a two-time Olympic champion, in Rio in 2016 and in Tokyo in 2021. He has also won gold and silver in the world championships.

Crouser has tried to compete with a new step technique, which is supposed to get more force in the push using rotation. In the new technology, one more step has been added to the cycle to pick up speed.

World Athletics tweeted about Crouser’s achievement, praising the man’s new technique. If you don’t see the embed, you can watch it from here.

The new world record result is still going through the usual ratification process.
