Crossroads of accident in Wijtschate not on list of dangerous points

On Tuesday, a truck and a van collided, then the truck drove into the facade of a house. The two vehicles and three homes caught fire.

The driver from Staden died on the spot, the other driver from Komen later died in hospital.

Not on Dangerous List

It is not the first time that accidents have happened there. According to a local resident, there have already been three serious accidents this year. Yet the intersection is not on the list of dangerous points of the Flemish government.

According to several witnesses, the van ignored the stop sign and drove into the truck. Investigation must show exactly how the accident happened.
