Cross, World Cup: in Dublin the king is Van Aert. Pidcock 3rd

In Ireland, with Van der Poel absent, the Belgian achieved his first off-road success of the season

Wout van Aert is back. The 28-year-old Belgian from Jumbo-Visma won the cross-country World Cup event held in Dublin (Ireland) thus obtaining his first success of the season in the absence of his great rival Mathieu Van der Poel (the Dutchman is in retirement with the team in Spain and did not participate). Van Aert won by gap: Laurens Sweeck, his compatriot from Crelans, arrived at 14” while world champion Tom Pidcock arrived third at 17”. Now the cross-country World Cup will move to Italy: there is great anticipation for the heat in Vermiglio, in Trentino, on Saturday 17 December when Mathieu Van der Poel will be there.
