Cross-country skiing, Tour de Ski: Johannes Hosflot Klaebo doesn’t give the competition a chance in the sprint

Status: 12/31/2022 3:47 p.m

Johannes Hosflot Klaebo once again demonstrated his class at the start of the Tour de Ski and won the sprint in a commanding manner.

Klaebo was already the fastest man in the quarter- and semi-finals as well as in the prologue, in the final he broke away early with Federico Pellegrino (+0.18 seconds) and was able to keep the Italian at bay in the final sprint.

Third was his compatriot Sindre Bjornestad Skar, more than two seconds back. The World Cup leader and biggest Klaebo competitor in the fight for overall victory, Pal Golberg, missed the final.

Decision without German participation

Of the nine German starters, only Friedrich Moch made it into the competition as 15th. In the first quarterfinal (with Klaebo) he finished fourth, but didn’t make it to the next round via the lucky losers.

On Sunday (01.01.2023) the men’s mass start over ten kilometers in classic style is on the program from 1.15 p.m.
