At the cross-country world championships of the U23 juniors, Helen Hoffmann won the title over ten kilometers for the third time in a row.
In Schipario, Italy, the 23-year-old Thuringian clearly distanced her competitors on Saturday (February 8th, 2025). The second -placed Rosie Fordham (Australia) already had a gap of 25.7 seconds. Bronze winner Liliane Gagnon (Canada) finished 37.3 seconds after the winner. All other runners were more than a minute behind, Yeaea Fürstenberg from SC Partenkirchen was 14 (+1: 54.0 minutes).
Men make the route difficult for women
“I was very happy that I was able to win over ten kilometers for the third time in a row. It was definitely not easy to walk today because it was snowing consistently, the route was very deep and slow – but apparently my conditions are exactly my conditions “said Hoffmann, who had already brought World Cup gold over this two years.
The conditions in Schipario were so difficult for them and their competitors because the route was not prepared again after the men’s previous race. For Hoffmann, Hoffmann is again about a possible World Cup title on Sunday. “Celebration was not possible today because tomorrow the next race will be due to the Mixed season”explained the U23 world champion.
