Crooks arrested who extorted money as fake bank clerks

The four were members of a gang of scammers who worked from the Netherlands and struck throughout Flanders. The investigation gained momentum after one of them pretended to be a bank employee on the phone with a woman from Kortrijk.

With a ruse they retrieved the code of her bank card and went shopping with it in Kortrijk. They struck dozens of times, and captured almost 200,000 euros. Computers and accessories were seized during house searches in the Netherlands.
