Led by 37-year-old Luka Modric, runner-up Croatia is traveling to Qatar for the World Cup with plenty of Bundesliga experience.
National coach Zlatko Dalic called for defense for the 26-strong squad on Wednesday (November 9th, 2022). Josip Stanisic from the German record champions FC Bayern Munich, Josko Gvardiol by cup winners RB Leipzig and Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart.
Jakic, Kramaric and Perisic are there
In midfield, Kristijan Jakic from Eintracht Frankfurt will be there, in attack the Croatians are again relying on the goalscoring qualities of Andrej Kramaric from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and on former Bundesliga professional Ivan Perisic, who now plays for Tottenham Hotspur plays. Former Frankfurt player Ante Rebic from AC Milan is not included.
The Croatians, who lost to France in the final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, will play in a group with Belgium, Canada and Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar.
