Croatia’s water polo players were crowned European champions for the second time at the European Championships at home.
In the final in Split, the hosts beat record winners Hungary 10:9 (3:3, 1:0, 4:4, 2:2). Spain secured bronze with a 7:6 (3:1, 0:2, 3:1, 1:2) against Italy. The German water polo players finished the tournament in 13th place.
The women’s title went to the Spaniards for the third time on Friday, who defeated Greece 9:6 (3:0, 1:3, 1:0, 4:3). The Italians won bronze with a 16:13 (5:4, 3:4, 2:4, 6:1) against the Netherlands.
