THE Critics Choice Awards they are back on the red carpet as they once were, and they did it in style. After the virtual ceremony of last year, and the postponement of the previous one, it was lived a night of award ceremonies and fascinating looks. The protagonists of the best films and TV series of the year have been able to balance the glamor of the black tie with fun and daring style choices. From couture dresses with disproportionate volumes, to metallic choices and bright colors. If the CCAs are just the anticipation of what awaits us at the Oscars (March 27), a memorable show is expected. But for now let’s enjoy the splendor of the more than 40 looks that walked last night in Los Angeles.
The style of the guests at the ceremony
It is undeniable: the Critics Choice Awards are an unmissable event especially for fascinating moments of style that it gives. Unlike the Oscars, or the Grammys, where exaggerated glamor reigns supreme, CCAs are not defined by a single aesthetic. This allows celebrities to express themselves more freely, bringing all kinds of outfits to the Red Carpet. Jung Ho-yeonmodel and star of Squid Game, enchanted with a baroque dress Louis Vuitton designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. The entire cast of POSE he took the stage with different clothes, but perfectly harmonious with each other. Elle Fanning took us back in time with a cocktail dress by Oscar de la Renta in the style of the 50s. While Zoey Deutch she dared with a voluminous 80s prom dress in magenta by design McQueen.
Gold, silver and sequins in the spotlight
The main protagonists of the looks at the Critics Choice Awards 2022 were sequins, diamonds and rhinestones. Jean Smartactress of Hacksbrought the sequined mermaid skirt from the collection to the Red Carpet Valentino Spring Couture by Pierpaolo Piccioli. Likewise, but with a more relaxed silhouette, too Margaret Qualley winked at a precious fabric with her dress Chanel Couture. The glitz of Dolce & Gabbana was worn by Kristen Stewart, with an essential but extremely cool embroidered pink slip dress. There was no lack of embroidery and beads even on the low-cut dress Mandy Mooreluminous goddess in Elie Saab Couture and on that of Lady Gag, obviously Gucci.
Red on the red carpet
Always eye-catching, but thanks to the chosen dress color, Selena Gomez, Issa Rae, Chrissy Metz, Juliette Lewis and Kaitlyn Dever they brought the red dress to the next level. Essential silhouettes, bright or voluminous fabrics and a fiery hue made red the color the trend of the CCAs.
A couple Red Carpet
Inevitable like every year, Hollywood star couples they turned Awards night into a romantic event. From Van Hunt And Halle Berry in black and white, to Jesse Plemons in support of his fiancée Kristen Dunstnominated for Best Supporting Actress for The power of the dog. There are those who have focused on contrasting looks such as Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith And Rita Ora and Taika Waititi. And who preferred to be in pendant: how Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in shades of brown and gold, or le Williams sistersboth in suits Versace Atelier silver.
