VideoCristiano Ronaldo has finally scored again for Manchester United after six league games. The 37-year-old Portuguese thus gave his club 3 points in the make-up match against Brighton & Hove Albion (2-0). Ronaldo’s last goal in the Premier League was against Burnley on December 30.

It was thirteen years ago that the attacker did not score for so long in a club. In fact, between December 2008 and January 2009, Ronaldo was dry for seven games in a row during his first stint with Man United.
The Portuguese also recently missed a penalty in the cup match against Middlesbrough. The team of manager Ralf Rangnick was partly eliminated in the FA Cup because of this.
Against Brighton, where former Ajax player Joël Veltman had a base place, Ronaldo finally managed to score again. Shortly after the break, Ronaldo got the ball in his feet after a fumbling from a Brighton player. The Portuguese started and took a hard shot from the edge of the penalty area: 1-0. Shortly afterwards Lewis Dunk had to be sent off with a red card. Against ten men, Bruno Fernandes, compatriot of Ronaldo, only decided the game for the home club well into injury time.
Manchester United climbed to fourth place in the Premier League, 20 points behind fellow city rivals City, which leads the ranking with 63 points.
