Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join Saudi club Al-Nassr. The medical check should already be scheduled.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened his mouth wide in amazement and his eyes sparkled. The pompous Christmas present from his girlfriend Georgina, a Rolls Royce convertible decorated with a red bow, left the five-time world soccer player speechless in front of the gates of his villa in Madrid. The noble “consolation prize” under the Christmas tree after the personally disappointing World Cup with Portugal in Qatar could be the beginning of a luxurious end to his illustrious career for Ronaldo.
According to media reports, the European champion of 2016 is about to sign Al-Nassr FC from Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, the medical check is said to have already been scheduled according to “CBS Sports”.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the 37-year-old Portuguese should collect the equivalent of a proud 200 million euros including advertising revenue for a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Afterwards, Ronaldo also beckons an advisory role with allegedly even more salary for a possible application by Saudi Arabia for the 2030 World Cup.
Ronaldo settles accounts with Manchester United
With the signature in the Saudi kingdom, troubled and also inglorious weeks would come to an end for Ronaldo. First England’s record champions Manchester United prematurely terminated the contract with CR7 after the eccentric superstar had offended several times. Before leaving for the World Cup, Ronaldo had opened up about accounts with United on the show “Piers Morgan Uncensored”.
With the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo also failed in the World Cup quarter-finals against sensational team Morocco (0-1). Previously there had been rumors about Zoff around the national team, in the round of 16 against Switzerland (6: 1) he was only able to play as a reserve player. His future there is not yet clear – he seems inclined to continue.
Ronaldo, who was still without a club, continued and kept fit after the quarter-final knockout in Qatar at the training ground of his former club Real Madrid. The next stop should now be Riyadh.
