Crispijn Ariëns is the winner of the Alternative Elfstedentocht on the Weissensee. The 33-year-old marathon skater from Boxtel turned out to be the fastest on the final sprint after a 200-kilometre ride.
The skater of the Reggeborgh team also won the race in 2017.
The Alternatieve Elfstedentocht is the longest of the six Grand Prix competitions that are held on Lake Weissensee and in Lulea, Sweden.
The program in Austria has been confused in recent days. It had snowed so hard that it was not possible to skate on the mountain lake last week. As a result, the Open NK was only held on Sunday and the Aart Koopmans Memorial on Monday.
