Crisis questions for children and young people have increased by more than a quarter in two years

The crisis hotlines received more than 15,000 crisis calls for children and young people last year. That is 7 percent more than in 2021, and 28 percent more than in 2020. The Growing Up Agency reports this today. Among girls between 12 and 18, the number of requests for specialized crisis help increased by 71 percent in five years. The agency notes that crisis situations last longer, which reduces the number of children and young people for whom urgent care could be initiated.
