Crisis consultations will take place in the very short term about the position of Willem II trainer Fred Grim. His team again failed to win on Saturday evening, of the last eighteen competition matches, the Tilburg team has won exactly one (after the 0-0 against SC Heerenveen).
After the 0-1 home defeat against Ajax two weeks ago, Tilburg was pointed to the three subsequent duels: FC Groningen-away, Heerenveen-home and Fortuna Sittard-away. Crucial duels in the fight against relegation, in which at least two good results were needed to get away from the danger zone. After the first of those three games was lost last week (1-0 in Groningen), Willem II stumbled in his own home on Saturday over Heerenveen, which had lost seven times in a row.
Grim’s team played better and was more dangerous than in previous matches, partly because the Frisians clearly radiated that they were very satisfied with a draw. The trainer emphasized afterwards that there were clearly points of contact, but the fact is that the 0-0 is not enough to take away the unrest. For the fourth time in a row (and for the seventh time in the last eight games), Willem II did not even score.
If Fortuna wins against PEC Zwolle on Sunday, the Tilburgers will be under the line. After the new downer, the question is whether Grim against Fortuna will still be in charge of Willem II next week. This question will be discussed in Tilburg in the very near future, according to insiders, the first talks will follow this weekend.
