This cycle of programs focuses on terrible murders which happen within the home, in places that should be a temple of security and serenity but which sometimes hide abuse, violence and oppression. The first date will focus on the murder of Melania Reawife and mother of a little girl who was only 18 months old when she disappeared on April 18, 2011.

In the first episode of the series, broadcast on Thursday 26 October, the focus will be on the case of Melania Rea, mother of little Vittoria. The tragic event occurs on April 18, 2011 on Colle San Marco in Ascoli Piceno, while Melania is in the company of her family. Two days later, the lifeless body of the woman in a forest, tormented by over 35 stab wounds. The culprit of her death is her husband, Salvatore Parolisi, former Army corporal, who was initially sentenced to 30 years in prison, later reduced to twenty. Through exclusive interviews with investigators, Melania’s family, witnesses and experts, and thanks to the use of original audio and video material from the investigations and unpublished repertoire, Stefano Nazzi carefully reconstructs every phase of the investigation. The documentary offers an in-depth look at Italy’s recent criminal history, revealing intricate romantic relationships and terrible emotions that lie behind such horror.
The second case is that of Lorys Stival

The second episode, which will air on November 2, will focus on the story of Lorys Stival. The tragic event took place on November 29, 2014, in the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa. It is at that moment that the lifeless body of little Lorys Andrea Stival. The mother of the child, Veronica Panarelloinitially reported her missing, but soon became the only one accused of the murder. Despite her initial claims of innocence, Veronica was implicated in the crime because she provided different versions of events. In the end, the woman will be recognized as the sole culprit of the murder and sentenced to thirty years in prison.

In the third episode of Crimes in the familyairing November 9, will examine the case of Ferdinando Carretta. The tragic story took place on 4 August 1989 in Parma, when the twenty-seven year old celebrated his atrocious murder inside his family residence. Using a firearm, Carretta kills members of his family, including his father, mother, and younger brother. After the brutal act, Ferdinand escapes to the United Kingdom, where traces of him seem to disappear into thin air. However, in a surprising twist, he confesses to the murders during a television interview for the popular program Who has seen?. His declared inability to understand and will will lead him to serve his sentence in a judicial psychiatric prison. Released in 2015, his story comes to an end with his death in 2023.
