Crevits lashes out at care group Triamant: ‘serious shortcomings’

An inspection found serious deficiencies, such as a shortage of carers and a lack of meals. Moreover, Triamant largely falls outside the regulations on residential care, and it has no recognition for the site in Wervik. All residents will now receive the necessary care again, thanks to independent nurses. According to the minister, the Triamant group has not informed any government about the problems.

“As far as I am concerned, this scenario places a crushing responsibility on the directors of the entire Triamant group. When there were financial difficulties, they did not inform any government, neither the Flemish, nor the federal, nor the local authorities. If they had informed administrations at the time that they had filed for bankruptcy, we would have had at least a week to help find solutions for the care questions and not, as has been the case, a few hours or days.
