The harrowing story of Sofie (7) has not left the Flemish Parliament unmoved either. As a toddler, the girl indicated that she was abused by her father, but the Trust Center for Child Abuse and Neglect did not believe that. Only when child pornography was found did Sofie receive protection. “How the hell is that possible?” Opposition and majority wondered aloud. Welfare Minister Crevits (CD&V) expressed concern and started an investigation, but N-VA wants to go even further. Meanwhile, complaints keep coming in at HLN.
