What do you do when you see a fire starting in the field, but don’t have water at hand? A farmer from Vlijmen decided to extinguish the fire with shit from a slurry tank. And with success.
The report about the starting fire on the Voorste Zeedijk in Vlijmen came in at the control room around ten past two. The fire brigade no longer had to take action, because the farmer had already tackled the flames, armed with slurry tank and manure hose.
“It may not be water, but it is certainly as effective,” said a 112 correspondent.
