Creating worlds where people want to belong

As often happens, a career, a life dedicated to another profession and, suddenly, the need for something else, an internal search that ends up becoming help for others as well. “Both my partner and I come from hard sciences. I graduated as a Public Accountant at the age of 25 and worked in renowned companies reaching positions of high responsibility, as did my partner, Marcelo Alberto Diaz, who graduated as a Systems Analyst. It was very productive for me and I am grateful for it, but there was something internally that made me go for other searches, more towards the social, inward” says FMT María Belén Falcón, FMT and Director of the Platense School of Coaching and NLP together with Marcelo, partner and academic director. “At the age of 35, I started an Accounting Firm, having many clients and growing. Around that time, with my partner who had studied Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), we began a journey together making our entire life and way of relating, both among ourselves and with other people, change very favourably. So we wanted to take it to more people, transforming it into our way of life. Therefore, we continue studying, both with national and international teachers, until we achieve the training that we expected to be able to share it with others.”

– How were those first steps?

The first thing that occurred to us was to put on a radio program to spread the disciplines, both NLP and coaching and applied neuroscience. Later, in addition to the program that was on the air for three years, we began to produce events in these disciplines. First in CABA and over time we began to offer and give talks, short events and courses in the city of La Plata, which is the city where we live. The main idea was to make known the discipline of NLP. As time went by and they got to know us, we had more and more people in the workshops we offered.

– At that moment is it that you start with the Platense School of Coaching and NLP and the certifications?

After the experience we had with the workshops, we then decided to offer certifications in Neurolinguistic Programming and Coaching. That was how we took some time to think about it, since, from our professions, we could create a new company. Doing a market study, we concluded that in the city of La Plata there was no other formally endorsed Neurolinguistic Programming school and that we could do it. So after analyzing it a lot, we started with our SME. On January 6, 2016, we opened the first NLP school in the city, with international programs and guarantees.

– What exactly is neuro-linguistic programming?

It is a method that studies human behavior, in how certain behaviors are carried out oriented to a particular result, taking into account mental processes and language.

– What is this discipline for?

NLP is both a meta discipline that allows you to complement it with any other you want, with any profession, with goals you want to set for yourself, with the management of emotions, even to use the different types of languages that we have and develop emotional and social skills or to modify behaviors that are no longer functional in your life or to take those that do work for you to superlative levels. It is also a discipline in itself, since you can work as a trainer with NLP or as a coach with NLP.

– What courses do they offer and what is the difference with those offered by other institutions?

First of all, we have the NLP Trainer training and the NLP Coach training. And in addition to courses, we also offer coaching services. We have international certifications and guarantees, which represents a guarantee of quality. The associations to which we belong have their quality verification processes permanently. In addition, we actively participate in them. The School belongs to the IA-NLP of Switzerland and is one of the few that has two endorsed professionals within it; It is also recognized by the Latin American Network of NLP, in which both my partner and I are members of the Axis Node of the same, something like the Directive Commission.

– How many levels does the training offer?

The training has two basic levels and two professional levels. The first level is the NLP Practitioner, in which basic skills are learned, using those skills to transform our behaviors and our relationship with the environment around us. It is a behavioral self-knowledge and the relationship with the environment. Learning to be aware of behaviors that are functional for me and seeing which ones I want to modify, mainly to enjoy life. The second level is the Master Practitioner in NLP in which students learn to do the same as the creators of the discipline: take a skill of their own excellence or that of other people, and with NLP tools, make a replicable model so that any person, company or team incorporates it. This level establishes the learning of new skills, capacity development and transformation of values and beliefs. These first two levels are core and are used for both professional levels. From there, students choose where they want to continue. The most common is that the majority choose to continue their professionalization in one of the two areas and then continue with the next one. It can be by Trainer or Coach.

– What is the difference between Trainer and Coach?

At the NLP Trainer we work on transcendence in order to become facilitators and trainers. It is a level where tools combined with neurolinguistic programming are learned to use in training on any discipline. We can use it both to train in NLP, as in any other discipline.

In the Coach with NLP training, we learn to use NLP techniques and tools to accompany any person, entrepreneur, team, group and/or company to carry out deep transformations to design the future they want to build. Coaching is an accompanying discipline to build the future.
