Accident horror in Thuringia! In a head-on collision on the B247, the Bad Langensalza bypass, seven people died on Saturday evening.

This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Bad Langensalza fire department. According to current information, two cars collided head-on and burst into flames. A vehicle was thrown onto a crash barrier.

The alarmed fire brigade could no longer help the occupants. Six people were burned, another person from a third BMW involved did not survive the accident either. According to the fire brigade information, three other people were injured, some seriously.

Residents were initially asked to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke. No information is yet available on the identity of the people killed. The B247 was completely closed after the accident.

Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (67, left) also spoke up late on Saturday evening: “It was with shock and great sadness that I just received the news of the very serious car crash between Schönstedt and Bad Langensalza. I mourn the dead and feel for the relatives. So much life wiped out in seconds. The bewilderment remains.”
