Not only did his truck sustain significant damage, De Groot himself also emerged from the battle unscathed. He is injured in his hand and needs surgery. Anja van Loon is still in the rally, although the difference was very close and that did not even have to do with her truck overturning. Janus van Kasteren remained on four wheels on this eighth day of the rally, but lost time again and seems to have forgotten about a final victory.
