Anyone who drives too fast or runs a red light at the Lindensteinlaan-Oldenoert intersection in Leek will be fined from Monday 3 October. The speed camera comes on at the intersection. The speed camera on the Auwemalaan in Leek was already put into use last month.
The speed camera is located at the intersection of Lindensteinlaan and Oldenoert, and monitors both driving directions. There is a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour.
The municipality of Westerkwartier believes that there are too many accidents at the intersection and that people are driving too fast. The speed camera has already been tested and a lot of violations were committed by motorists.
