Bureau criticizes investor
The partnership between Hertha BSC and investor Lars Windhorst with his “Tennor” group is getting deeper and deeper cracks. “The next general meeting is in May. Something will definitely have to happen,” said “Tennor” spokesman Andreas Fritzenkötter of the German Press Agency.

Discrepancies between Windhorst and the Bundesliga team have been part of the partnership for a long time, which surprised Fritzenkötter: “We didn’t think and were surprised that Hertha would slam the doors after we joined.”
Update 7:57 p.m.: The Hertha Presidium responded on Wednesday evening with a statement. Fritzenkötter’s statements were noted “with great astonishment”, it is said. “On the one hand, we do not think this route via the public is expedient. On the other hand, unspecific accusations and insinuations were repeatedly made. These damage not only the reputation of Hertha BSC, but also the investment on the part of Tennor Holding.” With reference to the next general meeting, “Tennor” crossed a line “with regard to the autonomy of the highest association body”. The Presidium appealed to discuss different views internally in the future.

The “Tennor” group has invested a total of 375 million euros since joining in the summer of 2019, with which the Berlin team should be built into a top team. Before matchday 26, Hertha is in the relegation zone with 23 points, one point ahead of the first relegation zone. Windhorst himself described his entry into Hertha as a “mistake” three weeks ago.
Renewed trouble with Hertha BSC: Windhorst stops production of documentation
The stop of the planned documentary “Welcome to Berlin”, which has been in the works since summer 2020, is causing trouble behind the scenes. According to the “sports picture“ to over one million euros. The investor has now stopped production himself, the documentation will never appear.
“Obviously, in hindsight, that was a problem that maybe one or the other was too honest. Maybe you’re afraid that the truth about the 2020 transfer summer will come out,” said ex-captain Axel Kruse, who served as the link between filmmakers and professionals. At the time, Hertha had targeted large transfers, but Windhorst did not make any payments and only received them much later. After all, there weren’t any major expenses for commitments.
“This is absolute nonsense, since at the time the delays in payments were well known to the public. In the end, everything was paid for, why should anything be hidden?” Fritzenkötter contradicted. “We stopped the project because it did not meet the agreed ideas or professional standards. It was unfit for publication. Example: In the video material, a high-ranking member of the Hertha management makes disparaging and condescending comments in front of the camera about Mr. Windhorst as an investor. Absolutely useless for such a documentation, as well as many other passages. In the end, the processing effort would have been too high and would have caused additional costs.”
