Kruti Patel Goyal takes over as CEO of resale platform Depop.
She will begin her new role on September 12, Depop parent Etsy announced on Wednesday. Maria Raga, who has been the CEO of Depop, “has resigned to pursue personal ventures,” the statement said. However, Raga will remain with the company as a consultant until the end of September in order to complete the handover in the best possible way.
“Depop is a highly relevant and authentic re-commerce brand that we believe is still early in its growth cycle. I have no doubt that Kruti is the right leader for Depop’s next chapter as we focus on nurturing the passionate community and improving the customer experience,” said Etsy CEO Josh Silverman. “She has led Etsy through times of significant upheaval and has proven her ability to motivate teams to deliver results and advance our mission.”
Over the past 11 years, Kruti Patel Goyal has held various senior management positions at Etsy, most recently as CPO. She will be replaced by Nick Daniel, who previously served as Vice President of Product Management and will now become part of Etsy’s executive board. Both will report directly to Silverman.
