New rules from February
The issue remains open and even if the measure were approved as early as Wednesday, the rules would not enter into force before February. Among other things, some problems remain to be solved, raised by the most critical fringes of the new obligation: first of all, it is necessary to indicate precisely who among the workers can be exempted from the vaccine and therefore from the super pass on the basis of certified diseases and then – how has underlined among others the governor of Friuli and president of the Conference of Regions Massimiliano Fedriga (Lega) – the question of compensation needs to be clarified.
There is already a law (210 of 1992) which governs the subject of compensation in favor of “persons damaged by irreversible complications due to compulsory vaccinations, transfusions and the administration of blood products”. The question is whether it can also automatically apply to the Covid vaccine for which more than an explicit obligation there is now a “disguised” obligation.
The new school protocol
Meanwhile, in view of the reopening of the school which will take place between 7 and 10 January, the Government and the Regions are working on a new protocol on the school after the latest news on quarantines that have just entered into force. The hypothesis is to foresee, in the case of two students who tested positive in a class, only the self-surveillance of five days (with tests at 10 days) for the children vaccinated (or healed in the last months) and the 10-day quarantine with Dad for others. With three infections in a single class, it would then be the ASL to evaluate further measures such as the suspension of the activity in presence.
Half of Italy in yellow from tomorrow
Finally, on Monday 3 January, Lombardy, Piedmont, Lazio and Sicily are added to the list of regions in the yellow zone, namely Calabria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Marche, Veneto and the autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento. A sign that infections are starting to weigh on hospitalizations and intensive care, albeit with numbers still far from last year.
