FC Volendam has extended the contract of captain Carel Eiting by one year. This is confirmed by the club NH Sports. The midfielder, who is in the interest of several clubs, is now stuck in the fishing village until mid-2025.
Eiting is on the radar at FC Twente. The Tukkers made an initial offer of 400,000 euros, but that was swept off the table by technical director Jasper van Leeuwen. Volendam requires six to seven times for the former Ajax midfielder. “It is true that we have received a wonderful and for us unacceptable offer from Twente for Carel,” Van Leeuwen said to The Telegraph “That wonderful and unacceptable also applies to the course of action.”
In addition to the low offer, FC Volendam also finds it inappropriate how FC Twente tried to do business with Eiting. Without communication and permission from Van Leeuwen, against FIFA rules, the club contacted and negotiated with Eiting.
Eiting has been playing at FC Volendam since last summer. Bee started his career at Ajax and ended up in the fishing village via Huddersfield Town and KRC Genk. Eiting played 35 matches for FC Volendam last year and scored three times. In addition, the captain gave eleven assists.
