Couturier Alexandre Vauthier looking for investors

Paris couture house Alexandre Vauthier is reportedly looking for investors after the Paris Commercial Court opened receivership proceedings earlier this week.

The proceedings, which come against the backdrop of a difficult financial period for the fashion industry as a whole, began in mid-November when the house defaulted on payments before being placed into administration, as French media group L’Informé first reported.

The deadline for submitting offers has been set for March 8, with the company under observation until August 13.

Alexandre Vauthier launched his eponymous brand in 2009. Since then, the luxury label has been on the official calendar of the French fashion association Fédération de Haute Couture et de la Mode.

The company, which currently employs 36 people, achieved a turnover of 12.7 million euros in the financial year ending March 31, 2023, according to documents filed with the Paris Commercial Court.
