Barcelona (dpa) – The Brazilian soccer player Philippe Coutinho is moving from FC Barcelona to the English Premier League club Aston Villa after a good five months.
According to a statement from the Catalans, both clubs have agreed on the €20m transfer. The former Bayern professional, who has been on loan to the English side since the beginning of January, has signed a contract that runs until 2026.
After Barcelona, the 29-year-old first moved from Liverpool in January 2018. Barca wanted to cut Coutinho from their payroll, who never made it through at the Camp Nou and was loaned out to Bayern Munich in the second half of the 2019/20 season. The heavily indebted club will have to cut their payroll budget if they want to sign new players.
