Here were tips from the experts…

When “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate Hilmar Benecke sat in the rate chair on Monday evening, many viewers pricked up their ears. The 58-year-old is a couples therapist and chatted happily on the quiz show.

Günther Jauch (67) was also curious about what his counterpart had to say. He wanted to know whether men or women in a relationship are more likely to seek outside help.

Couples therapist Benecke, who is himself divorced: “The initiative often comes from women. Men need a little more time to think about it.” According to the professional, the latter believe that they can solve relationship problems on their own.

Günther Jauch had a theory for this: “It was predetermined in the Stone Age. If the mammoth comes, I’ll have to manage on my own and I won’t be able to call my wife in.” When asked about the main trigger for marital turmoil, Benecke clearly named the affair. There would also be a lack of appreciation from the partner.

Now it wasn’t just exciting for the audience in the studio. When it comes to cheating, Jauch asked how an affair is most likely to be noticed. The couples therapist’s answer came straight away: “Meanwhile through the cell phone.”

To explain this in more detail, he describes a situation that the expert believes is a classic. Benecke: “It’s just flashing and I’ve already reached for it.”

THIS is how every affair is discovered: It is immediately suspicious if your partner now always carries his cell phone around with him, where until now it was usually lying open somewhere. This would quickly arouse mistrust in the other person.

Günther Jauch added: “Once you suspect, then you look.” Keyword: cell phone snooping.

By the way, his candidate had the right nose even when it came to gambling. Because Benecke got out on time, he ended up winning 32,000 euros.

Candidate Anja Scharf was also able to say something on the show. The human resources employee once worked as an usher at the Bayreuth Festival and also sold program books there.

She wanted to top up her hourly wage with tips. Most of the numerous celebrities present would have given her around 2.50 euros extra.

Jauch mischievously: “And who doesn’t? I want to hear names!” In fact, according to the candidate, two celebrities turned out to be rather stingy at the time: ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel (69) and TV legend Thomas Gottschalk (73).

Günther Jauch about his colleague: “Now I know Thomas Gottschalk very well and for a very long time. Completely uncharacteristic behavior for me. He is very generous in the case.”

The quiz master wanted to immediately compensate for the entertainer’s faux pas and rummaged through his jacket for change. Jauch collected a whopping five euros and five cents, which he handed over to the young woman.

Anja Scharf gambled her way to 16,000 euros by the end and can continue playing in the next episode.
