The judges of the Council of State are today faced with a number of fundamental issues about nitrogen emissions from livestock farms. The case revolves around nature permits for eight dairy farms in the province of Utrecht. The big question is whether or not they should get it. They are also considering whether a permit is required to let cows out in the pasture.
