“Could it be hunger?” | News

What are you hungry for?

Physiologically, the feeling of hunger is generated from the stomach. But in some people, a voracious appetite also appears from the mind, feeling that one can continue chewing until there is nothing left on the table.

“The hunger of the head wins over the hunger of the belly.”

This is how the fantasy of “eating everything” takes place, since if something is left out, the opportunity to try it is lost.

What happens when the appetite of the mind does not register the needs of the body?

“Eat with your head” It drags the person into a lack of measure, always being able to fit in one more bite.

The body becomes invisible in the satisfaction of its biological needs, resulting in various physical ailments.

Despite being aware of these symptoms, “you can’t stop swallowing,” then feeling guilt and confusion when you don’t understand why this is happening.

“It feels like an addiction, where you take one bite, you can’t stop it.”

Some objects are taken as “a drug” (food, alcohol, technology, clothing, etc.), impacting this on the internal world. He eats the unsaid, the unnamed, with the symbolic risk of “devouring his own body.”

Power costs

It is a privilege to have the option to economically access the food you want. But we don’t always know how to handle a possibility in a healthy way.

When access is transformed into excess, weight is gained, and that source of power becomes suffering.

Eat or be eaten?

A healthy diet, balanced in nutrients, respecting the body’s rhythms, is possible by recording your own body.

Interrogate the fantasy of “eating everything”, giving rise to the reality principle. Something will always be missing, and allowing yourself to give up temptations is an indicator of health.

The challenge is to be able to mean “food” only as that which is ingested to nourish oneself, and not to be swallowed up by devouring fantasies.
