Amazon has now confirmed that Amazon Prime Video will also show advertising in its streaming offering in Germany from February 5th. In the USA and other countries it will be available from January 29th.
The streamer is thus following a development that has already become a reality with Netflix, Disney+ and others. The media providers are reacting to increased production prices, but also promising to continue investing in quality. (We’ll take them at their word!)
How much does Amazon Prime Video cost per month without advertising?
The fact is that Amazon Prime Video will be shown with advertising for all customers from February 5th if they do not choose a premium model without advertisements. This is already possible with a pre-order. An additional fee of 2.99 euros will then be added to the previously known costs (8.90 euros per month or 89.90 euros per year). So that’s 11.89 euros per month in the new billing.
In its terms of use, Amazon Prime Video states that the price will be charged additionally on a monthly basis. The company indicates that the price may change in the future (“Amazon may change the price for this booking from time to time”). In general, the premium model, i.e. streaming without advertising, can be canceled at any time.
