‘Corona goats’ have to get used to crowds on Amsterdam farm

Goat farm Ridammerhoeve in the Amsterdamse Bos is once again visited by goat lovers. The beautiful weather and the May holidays ensure many visitors. It takes some getting used to for goats born during the corona period.

“We were also unable to receive visitors during corona,” says eowner Corine Riteco. “Of course goats were born then and they are not used to the visitors. Those goats didn’t know those little bottles either. That’s why they ran away from you.”

It was not only the owner who noticed. Visitors also tell about the ‘corona goats’. “They are a bit scared. That wasn’t the case in the past. If you gave them milk then, they would drink it right away,” say some young visitors. A girl says she understands. “Everywhere the kids are, there are people. I think it stresses the kids a bit.”

Fortunately, goats adapt quickly. Coriene explains: “Kids love attention and you actually don’t notice it anymore. They have fully recovered.”
