CORON FIGURES. Exactly 2,000 corona patients in Belgian hospitals, infections continue to decrease Coronavirus what you need to know

The number of corona patients in Belgian hospitals continues to fall. The number of confirmed infections is also decreasing further. Unfortunately, the number of deaths from Covid is still rising, according to figures from health institute Sciensano.

There are now exactly 2,000 people with or because of a Covid infection in the hospital. That is a decrease of 7 percent. In the department intensive care lie 101 corona patients, which is a decrease of eight percent.


The past seven days were averaged daily 150.1 people admitted to our hospitals due to the consequences of a Covid infection. That is seven percent less than last week.


Between 19 and 25 July there were on average 4.071 new ones Covid infections per day. On a weekly basis, that is a decrease of 35 percent.


When we compare the daily figures, we see fewer confirmed infections on all days than the same day a week earlier. Please note: Thursday 21 July was a public holiday, on which far fewer people were tested. That explains the big difference with Thursday a week earlier.


The number decreased tests decreased by 29 percent between 19 and 25 July to an average of more than 13,700 per day. The positivity ratio amounts to 32.2 percent. The reproduction value is now 0.94 and thus dips back below 1. This means that the epidemic is waning.


The number of death did increase by 14 percent between 19 and 25 July. Average died 12.7 corona patients per day.
