Singer Cornelia Jakobs is already aiming for her seventh victory in Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Stockholm singer-songwriter Cornelia Jakobs, 30, says the music was present at an early stage in his life. His father, Jakob Samuelis known for The Poodles, a band that plays heavy metal music, among other things.
Cornelia remembers from her childhood how her grandmother, the conductor Kerstin Nerbein turn, tried to get her grandchildren excited about the opera.
– It felt so awfully boring then. We had a music studio at home, so I was happy to go there to sing and play. I’ve always loved to entertain people, Cornelia recalls.

Even if there are significant musicians in the family, everyone has to clear their own path. In 2008, Cornelia tried to pursue her dream in the Swedish Idols program, but the trip rushed to the barking of the judges already in the audition phase.
The ground did not freeze, but next Cornelia was selected through auditions for a girl band called Love Generation. However, the band did not have time to be together for a long time and eventually the group had shrunk to a duo.

It was time to try your own wings on a solo career.
– If I loved money, I would have chosen a career other than music. As a singer, you are always looking for the next gig. This is hard work, even though you might only see those “glamor” moments on Instagram outside of Cornelia.
Along the way, I have also learned to trust other people.
– I’ve always thought I should be a superhero who needs to be able to do everything alone. Now, for the first time as an artist, I have a record label behind me. I can now focus on performance and creativity, I’m really miserable with schedules.
Towards Eurovision Song Contest
Gone are the busy weeks, as Cornelia won the popular Melodifestivalen in Sweden in early March. Hold Me Closer.
However, he faces an even bigger dawn when he represents his homeland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin in May.
Expectations in the western neighborhood are high, as with the seventh victory, Sweden would make visa history. Our western neighbor would rise the most alongside Eurovision-winning Ireland.
– I try to stay calm and focus on doing my best. My biggest hope is that I myself am happy with my performance, Cornelia ponders.

Sweden will compete for the place in the second semi-final together with Finland. The blue and white colors in the competition are defended by The Rasmus Jezebel.
– I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t heard The Rasmus competition track yet. I have tried to avoid a competitive attitude and focus on enjoying the moment.
At the end of the interview, I still have to ask, does the opera still feel just as boring?
– Today I can appreciate it because it reminds me so many memories, the singer laughs.
