Extremely distasteful: Cornald Maas appeared on national television last night with a snot in his nose. At least, that’s what the stars of Shownieuws hope. “We see everything!”
Cornald Maas is truly the Malle Eppie of public broadcasting. We can’t take that man seriously anymore since he revealed that he loves watching house fires. “It only happens in residential homes, strangely enough, not in commercial properties. No matter how scared I am, I have to go there. I have pictures in my phone of fires where I went to look.”
House fires
What kind of scary hobby is this? People die in house fires. An entire family history can go up in smoke. Why on earth is he taking pictures of that? “I’ll keep that. As I turn the corner of the street where the fire is, my heart starts beating very fast. Then I start staring endlessly.”
Cornald finds burning down houses almost more fun than the Eurovision Song Contest. “There was a fire in my own street once, exactly when the points count for the National Song Contest was in progress. Then I stood in the doorway – looking back and forth between the fire and the scoring.”
Cornald brat
In other words: it is not quite one hundred. Or is he externally influenced? In any case, Cornald appeared last night Show news with something white under his nose. Oops. Has he been caught or is this something else?
Story boss Guido den Aantrekker reassures the viewer. “We noticed something white in Cornald Maas’ nose, but we are convinced that it was a snot.”
‘We see everything’
Presenter Annemarie Brüning agrees. “Yes, no, that was a joke.”
Guido: “That there is no misunderstanding about that.”
Annemarie: “How nice that you actually mentioned that.”
Guido: “We see everything.”
Annemarie: “Yes, exactly. Hahaha.”
