The final four of the DFB women is perfect, but not everyone could celebrate success. Cora Zicai had to stop injured – and it could get worse.

The clear 4-0 victory of the German National National team against the Netherlands on Friday in Bremen brought early qualifications for the final tournament of the Nations League in autumn. However, an actor was missing due to injury: offensive player Cora Zicai could not participate due to muscular complaints.

As the German Football Association (DFB) now announced, the 20-year-old left the national team prematurely. Zicai, who will be under contract with VfL Wolfsburg in the future, returned to her still club in Freiburg for further medical treatment. It is currently uncertain whether she can take part in the European Championship in Switzerland in July.

National coach Christian Wück will announce his squad for the tournament on June 12th. Zicai will miss the Nation’s League group game against Austria next Tuesday (from 8:30 p.m. in the T-Online Livetier)-it is the last game before the European Championship start and a chance to prove yourself again. Despite the failure, Wück refrains from nomination and gave Zicai hope: “A possible participation in EM depends on the further course of healing.”
