Copenhagen Fashion Week for AW24 without regular guest Ganni

The program for the Fall 2024 edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) has been announced. A total of 31 shows will take place over four days.

Between January 29 and February 2, 2024, the event will continue to showcase designers approved through a screening process conducted by the CPHFW Show Committee and CPHFW Sustainability Committee, with 18 minimum standards to be met.

In addition, two new Nordic brands, Alectra Rothschild/Masculina and Stamm, will be included in the NewTalent program supported by CPHFW. Martin Quad, Sloth Rousing and MLGA were given the “One to Watch” award.

Rolf Ekroth and Nicklas Skovgaard, who will open the event after the official reception, are taking part in NewTalent again, having already taken part in the initiative last season.

The Danish fashion brand Ganni – otherwise an integral part of the fashion week – is foregoing participation this year in order to support emerging talent through the newly founded NewTalent program.

The company also announced that it will undertake branding projects in Asia and the US to support its business in the two regions.

Ganni focuses on global growth

“We are looking forward to this season and the opportunity to continue to support emerging talent. In recent years we have worked with rising stars such as Priya Ahluwalia, Ester Manas and Kim Nguyen, as well as Nicklas Skovgaard from Copenhagen,” said Ganni CEO Andrea Baldo. “The break from the show program also allows us to rethink the vision for our events and give special priority to local brand projects in Asia and the USA.”

Although Ganni won’t be on the program, a number of regular guests, such as Baum und Pferdegarten, Henrik Vibskov, Remain, Munthe, Stine Goya and The Garment, will be back this season.

“The global reach that Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to enjoy is a testament to the role a fashion week has to play in expecting positive change from international and Nordic leaders in the fashion industry,” said Cecilie Thorsmark, the managing director of fashion week.

“By implementing Copenhagen Fashion Week as an important cultural event, we are proposing new definitions of what a fashion week can symbolize, and our continued growth only underlines this.”
