We will be wrong if we treat the climate summit that begins this Thursday in Dubai, COP28, as an event in which the grandiloquent phrases that the real commitments. It is true that the challenges are enormous, not without great difficulties in bringing world leaders with sometimes conflicting interests to an agreement on a common resolution, and that examples from the past do not help to forge a hopeful idea about the results that emerge from the summit, but there is no other alternative but to continue persevering in the search for solutions to mitigate climate change. Or rather, The alternative of not acting leads humanity to an inconceivable future, the famous point of no return that we have not yet reached. So that, COP28 is presented as an opportunity For those of us who believe that it is still possible to save the planet.
